Baton Rouge, La., October 26, 2021 – We are proud to announce AT&T’s contribution of $375,000 to the Hurricane Ida Relief Fund. These dollars will support critical response and recovery efforts being made by community foundations across Southeast Louisiana.
The Hurricane Ida Relief and Recovery Fund makes grants to community foundations in Southeast Louisiana.
The fund is a collaboration between the Office of the Governor, Greater New Orleans Foundation, Bayou Community Foundation in Houma, Northshore Community Foundation in Covington, and Baton Rouge Area Foundation. It prioritizes both immediate response and long-term recovery needs of affected areas.
“Continued support from the business community is critical as we will see recovery efforts in some communities for many more months, perhaps years,” said John G. Davies, president and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, which is fiscal agent for the joint charitable fund. “This contribution from AT&T reflects their consistent and trusted presence across Louisiana.”
These funds from AT&T will support work being done by the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity, Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West, Second Harvest Food Bank, the United Way of South Louisiana, and other organizations active across the affected communities.
“We are committed to the strength and vitality of communities across Louisiana, and there may be no better example of the resiliency of this state than when our neighbors come together to support one another in times of crisis. We appreciate the tremendous work being done through the Hurricane Ida Relief Fund, and we are proud to support their efforts to help those recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Ida,” said Sonia Perez, President AT&T Southeast States.
