Digital resource simplifies community donations to local charities
Baton Rouge, LA (June 5, 2023) – The Baton Rouge Area Foundation today announced the launch of the Giving Store, a tool to connect civic-minded people with nonprofits and causes they care about. Through the Giving Store, donors can browse a list of active fundraising campaigns submitted by nonprofits to ensure they are supporting specific, real-time needs of nonprofits with donations processed through the platform. Learn more at braf.org/nonprofits or navigate directly to the giving store at braf.org/givingstore.
The Giving Store serves as a centralized platform to facilitate donations to a wide range of charitable organizations within the Baton Rouge area. Any nonprofit in good standing with the IRS and Louisiana Secretary of State are eligible to submit giving opportunities to the Foundation for potential inclusion on this platform. There is no cost for nonprofits to include a giving opportunity on the platform.
Community members can browse specific giving opportunities from local nonprofits or search by keyword or area of focus to find opportunities aligned with their interests. Donations start as little as $10, and multiple donations can be completed in one transaction. “Grouping giving opportunities, on a user-friendly platform, is important to helping our community explore new causes to support. We are looking forward to the response from both nonprofits and those who care about them succeeding.” said Lauren Crump, vice president of nonprofit excellence.
Chris Meyer, president and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, added, “our goal is to empower individuals to take an active role in philanthropy, helping them make a lasting difference in the causes they care about most. We believe that by strengthening the connection between donors and charities, we can amplify the positive impact throughout our community.”
